六悦博物馆匾额文史探源:以“双鹤巢松”“克绳祖武”等匾说乔迁新居

 

古人十分重视居住条件,安居乐业,老百姓将安居列为首要条件。先民们对住房的筹备、建造异常重视。因此,新居落成,乔迁之日,族人亲友往往题赠匾额。

 

六悦博物馆内也有这类匾额,比如“双鹤巢松”这块匾额,由常德府儒学教授拜题,赠予承翁老先生及其妻子。这对夫妇好福气,双双年届古稀,又加乔迁之喜。“双鹤巢松”,双鹤与上款的双星呼应,仙鹤祝颂长寿;巢松,建成的华堂,用松巢作比,承袭仙鹤而来,更有长寿意味。

Ancient people attached great importance to their living conditions and considered a comfortable home as a top priority. Chinese ancestors paid special attention to the preparation and construction of their homes. Therefore, when a new residence was completed and they moved in, family members and friends often presented plaques as gifts.

 

The Six Arts Museum also houses such plaques, such as the plaque "Double Cranes Nesting in Pine Trees," which was inscribed by a Confucian professor from Changde Prefecture and presented to Mr. Chengweng and his wife. This couple is fortunate, as they both reached the age of seventy, and they also celebrated the joy of moving into a new home. "Double Cranes Nesting in Pine Trees" refers to the dual cranes that correspond to the twin stars in the upper section, symbolizing the blessings of longevity. The pine trees represent the completed magnificent home, comparing it to a pine nest, inheriting the spirit of the cranes and carrying the meaning of longevity.

六悦博物馆匾额文史探源:

以“双鹤巢松”“克绳祖武”等匾说乔迁新居

古人十分重视居住条件,老子说过:“民各甘其食,美其服,安其俗,乐其业。”《汉书·货殖列传》也说:“各安其居而乐其业,甘其食而美其服。”安居乐业,老百姓将安居列为首要条件。安居,首先得生活平安,心情安定,一家一族平静安稳团团会聚一起,相亲相爱;其次才能乐业,愉快地从事自己的职业。先民们对住房的筹备、建造异常重视。造屋是一家一户的百年大计,也是一房一族的百年大计。因此,新居落成,乔迁之日,族人亲友往往题赠匾额。

六悦博物馆这类匾额不少。下面这方“双鹤巢松”横匾,自湖南常德征集而来,长四米多,宽一米有余:

承翁老先生双星七秩并贺华构落成

榜书:双鹤巢松

下款:赐进士出身

例授文林郞借补常德府儒学正堂

年家眷教弟金门瞿家鏊 拜题

此匾由常德府儒学教授拜题,赠予承翁老先生及其妻子。这对夫妇好福气,双双年届古稀,又加乔迁之喜。“双鹤巢松”,双鹤与上款的双星呼应,仙鹤祝颂长寿;巢松,建成的华堂,用松巢作比,承袭仙鹤而来,更有长寿意味。下面对一些古词,略略作点注释。

恭介:恭敬赠予。

赐进士出身:清代一甲进士,“赐进士及第”;二甲进士,“赐进士出身”;三甲进士,“赐同进士出身”。看来这位瞿家鏊是二甲进士。

例授:循例授予,按照老规矩授予文林郞,正七品散官。

借补常德府学正堂:二甲进士瞿家鏊,官阶正七品,可以赴朝廷某部门任职,最大的可能是外放知县,不过僧多粥少,需要候补。由于知县额满,朝廷以补充教职缺额的名义授予瞿家鏊常德府儒学正堂。府儒学正堂是教授,同属正七品。这就是借补,更多的借补是高品官阶补低品之缺。

年家眷教弟:科举考试,同一年考中秀才、举人或进士的学子,互称年家眷弟。后来无论有无科第,一概称年家眷、年家。用个弟属于自谦,儒学正堂是教职,因此自称教弟。

再请观赏下面这一方“萱荣燕翼”横匾,是湖南永州零陵县嵇知县为唐孺人所题。

光绪二年丙子岁九月廿四日 立

匾文“萱荣燕翼”解读。萱,萱草,传统文化中往往作为母亲的象征。古人常将萱草种植北堂庭院内,久而久之北堂和萱草被用来指代母亲。萱荣,老母身体健康,充满活力,看来此匾是儿子请求嵇知县所题。八十开一,不是81岁,而是71岁(请参见拙文《以六悦博物馆“集庆三多”“德隆杖乡”等匾说古人年龄的“开一”与“晋一”》)。燕翼,典出《诗.大雅.文王有声》:“武王岂不仕,诒厥孙谋,以燕翼子。”孔颖达疏:“思得泽及后人,故遗传其所以顺天下之谋,以安敬事之子孙。”通俗点说,燕翼就是燕子的翅膀,后人以“燕翼”谓善为子孙后代谋划。这位唐孺人,年逾古稀,儿孙绕膝,数十年来,德言工容,恭俭温良,不辞辛劳,而今七十大寿同时乔迁新居,又得到父母官赠匾,三喜临门。

多年前,守望庐主在浙北见到一座清代建筑,当地称为“德润堂”。走进去看见一块匾额,陈旧而又斑驳,不过气势依然恢弘,匾文“德润鸿图”。令人想起“富润屋,德润身”那句老话。富与屋自有关系,没有富,哪来的屋?德与身,关系更是密切,没有德行,怎么立身行事,立足社会?想想也是,身无德行,别说润屋,屋都会保不住的。“德润鸿图”,屋主凭借自身的德泽,奠定了宏大基业,又深谋远虑,期盼后世子孙道德润泽大地,恩惠广施社会。

下面这方“克绳祖武”匾,表达了岳父对女婿的期盼。

克绳祖武,克:能够;绳:按照,看齐;祖武:祖上的脚步。《幼学琼林》卷二:“克绳祖武,是称象贤之孙”。在女婿大厦落成之日,岳父熊世恒赠送此匾,希望女婿效法先人贤德,沿着父祖足迹努力前行。       “克绳祖武”、“德润鸿图”,俨然家训;还有“萱荣燕翼”,也有鼓励、督责后世子孙一代代接力的意味。

李海珉老师简介

 

李海珉,字龙石,笔名李展、南雁、守望庐主,1947年生于吴江黎里。

 

当了20多年中学教师,1994年调入柳亚子纪念馆,后任馆长兼黎里文保所长,被评为副研究员,中国南社研究中心聘为研究员。

 

主攻江南古镇、南社文化和书画文物研究,也撰写散文随笔。

 

2007年9月退休,2011年黎里古镇保护开发管理委员会聘为顾问,兼柳亚子纪念馆、黎里旅游公司顾问。

 

出版《柳亚子》、《古镇黎里》、《奇珍揽胜》、《吴江南社》、《白蕉手迹鉴赏》、《南社书坛点将录》等专著、编著20多本,约600万字。

 

Lee Haimin Profile

 

Lee Haimin. Pen name: Lee Zhan, Southern Goose, the Hovel Watcher. Mr. Lee was born in Lili Ancient Town in 1947.

 

Mr Lee was a teacher for more than 20 years, and he began work in Liu Yazi Memorial Museum in 1994. A few years later, he became the curator and the director of the Institute of Cultural Relics Protection in Lili Ancient Town, and was appointed as an associate researcher. He is also employed as a researcher by the Nanshe Research Center.

 

Mr. Lee specializes in ancient towns South of the Changjiang River, the culture of Nanshe, painting and calligraphy, and he is also a prose writer.

 

He retired in September 2007. In 2011, he was hired by the Lili Ancient Town Protection and Development Management Committee as a consultant, and he is also a consultant for Liu Yazi Memorial Museum and Lili Tourism Company.

 

Mr. Lee has published more than 20 books with about 6 million words, such as Liu Yazi, Ancient Town Lili, Treasure Are in Sight, Nan She of Wujiang, Appreciation of White Banana Script, and Nanshe Member Review.
