During this past week-long Spring Festival Celebration of the start of the Year of the Rabbit, everywhere was bustling. Six Arts Museum and Six Arts Culture Park were no exception. We welcomed many old and new friends and families, all of whom enjoyed their visit and made many happy, lasting memories here during the holidays.
The Six Arts Museum activities team prepared many fun and interesting Chinese New Year DIY activities, which enabled guests to participate in a different cultural DIY activity each day. The activities attracted many participants young and old, each of whom took home wonderful lasting impressions of their cultural DIY activity and their visit to the Six Arts Museum.
Participants experienced traditional folk handicrafts and learned more about traditional Chinese culture during their activity. The activities included traditional Chinese medicine sachet making, paper cutting, wood-cut rubbing, enamel bookmark marking, rattan weaving, and clay figurines. These activities created a festive atmosphere for everyone in the museum as we together bid farewell to the Year of the Tiger and welcomed the arrival of the Year of the Rabbit.
In addition to the interesting and attractive DIY folk handicraft activities, the museum’s temporary and permanent collection exhibitions of ancient folk arts are even more fascinating to visitors from around the world, many of whom have developed a particularly keen interest in Chinese folk art after visiting the Six Arts Museum.
Visitors enjoyed searching for the many carvings, paintings and other artistic depictions of rabbits hidden among the dazzling exhibitions in the Six Arts Museum. Many guests collected photos of their newfound rabbit friends as a means of saving and sharing their good fortune with friends and family for the rest of the year of the rabbit.
While the Chinese New Year holiday festival is over, the happiness and joyfulness remains. Throughout the Year of the Rabbit, Six Arts will continue to provide amazing exhibitions, interesting DIY activities and delicious food for you, our guests and our friends, so that you can always expect to have a wonderful cultural experience here with us.
